Catching Up!

I am SO far behind on my blog. SO much has been going on, but at the end of the day I never actually sit down to write. Luke is 15 months old already! Holy cow where has the time gone? I feel like I say that every month, but seriously...... It's weird to be at the point in life where I am getting the " So, when are you going to have your next baby?" Um, I still have a baby, what are you talking about? Just kidding, just kidding...kinda. As much as I have always wanted at least 3 kids, I am really content with just my family of 3 at the moment. Luke is SO much fun right now, it is hard for me to think of the possibility of feeling like I am going to throw up all day long and take care of a baby Toddler. If someone could guarantee me that I won't feel as sick as I did with Luke during my next pregnancy, heck I'd be popping kids out left and right ( okay, not really.....that sounded kinda weird). I LOVED being pregnant, so when the time is right for our family, I will be more than ready!

Besides my baby boy growing like a weed, I am FINALLY done with teaching for the summer! PTL! That was THE longest school year of my life!! We had to extend the year by two weeks to make up for the time that we lost due to the move, so I just gone done on Friday. I never thought it was going to end. So many things happened this year that I would never wish upon to any teacher, but now that I look back, it helped me to realize how flexible you to have to be when you are a teacher and I have personally realized how well I can adapt to any situation. I like to think of it as a really great life lesson and I am now moving on.....

With that said, I had decided that after this school year I was going to try and find a job teaching closer to my house. I was driving close to 30 miles each way to work every morning and evening, in horrible traffic. It would take me close to an hour to get to work and from work each day. SO much time wasted in my car. I always joked that I should get Rosetta Stone in my car and learn a new language. As the year was coming closer to an end, I began to get calls for interview in the school districts close to my house. I had a few interviews that I thought went great, and a few that I knew from the minute I sat down it was not a place I wanted to work. To make a long story short....I wasn't getting any offers and I was getting pretty discouraged. I had even contemplated staying at my current school, so that I would have a job. Well little did I know that God was just waiting for the perfect job for me to come along.... In the Spring of 2010 I did my student teaching at a really great school in a really reputable district. I had an amazing mentor teacher and a wonderful student teaching experience. When I was done student teaching, that school wasn't hiring, so I ended up at the school I just taught the last two years at. Well two weeks ago, the school I student taught at invited me back for an interview and they offered me the job on the spot!!! Yay!! So it is official.....I will be teaching 5th grade next year!!!  I am beyond excited. I never imagined that I would be teaching 5th grade, but the more and more I get used to the idea the more excited I get! I know that my students are going to challenge me and I hope in return I will challenge them and have a really awesome school year! I feel beyond blessed and am going to LOVE my 8 mile drive to work every day!!! :)

Now that I am on Summer break, I am ready to just relax as much as I can, and spend time with my sweet Luke! Being a stay at home mom has always been a dream of mine, so while I am not home full time yet, it is nice that I can do my second passion for 9 months and then get to be home for the other 3 months....it's a win win for now :)

I plan on doing an entire post about Luke tomorrow. He is SO funny these days and I have SO many things to "write" down so that I will never forger this amazing time in our lives.

Happy Monday my friends!
